A FLASH BULB MEMORY:
This work focuses on a critical view of our sense of time and memory. studying how we process milestone memories and how these events go on to influence us. through using my own and questioning others about their experiences.
For this series i researched areas of cognitive psychology and questioned psychologist theories on the process of our memories, its reliability and whether its possible to change our memories. As well as reviewing other artists work around the subject matter which has guided me to produce a more structured body of work.
I aim to produce relatable pieces of work in order for my viewer gain an understanding of my subject matter, as well as to allow them to reflect up on their own personal experiences. I experiment using a range of mediums and let my subject matter dictate the materials that I use. For later pieces in this work i have experimented with projection for the first time as well as creating a corresponding installation piece. These mediums tie in well with the process of memory and this makes for a strong base for my work.
